1. WHY IS THE TOP OF THE HEAD SLIGHTLY CUT OFF?
All headshot photographers who do their jobs right, know that the top of every headshot is slightly cut off because it’s more appealing. Cropping the top off of someone’s head makes the portrait more engaging because it draws the viewer’s focus more directly to the subject’s face, and in particular right into their eyes. By eliminating the top of the head from the portrait, the composition is simplified and the eyes becomes the singular centre of interest.

2. CAN I STILL HAVE MY ENTIRE HEAD IN THE HEADSHOT?
If you insist on getting all of your hair into the picture we can certainly do that if this is the look you prefer.

3. CAN YOU HELP ME ADJUST MY HEADSHOT FOR SOCIAL MEDIA?
If you need me to adjust the size of your photo at the right dimensions for any social media page, message me at email@deepinspired.com and attach your image to the email. I charge $50 per photo, and per adjustment. Popular business sites that have different size adjustments for the profile images  include Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

4. CAN FRIENDS OR FAMILY DOWNLOAD MY IMAGES FOR ME?
If you are not computer savvy, you can forward your secured* email link to friends or family who can download the images for you. Secured* means you or your friend will have a unique website url that others can only see if you send them your link.

5. DO YOU PRINT HEADSHOTS?
No, however, there are many reputable places in HRM that print. Although Costco and Walmart do printing, I suggest going to a higher end photo lab for quality images such as Atlantic Photo in Burnside, Dartmouth.

6. WHAT LIGHTING DO YOU USE?
My lighting technique is designed to create soft, flat light that reduces the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes so that there is minimal post editing. This technique creates a natural looking light, makes the skin look great. It involves two advanced studio lamps and one reflector.

7. WHY DO YOU USE A WHITE BACKDROP?
Most business headshots are intended for online profiles including websites and social media. A white background is preferred because it can be easily digitally replaced with any other colour to better serve a corporate brand.

8. WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
I shoot using a Nikon D610 and an 85mm 1.8 Nikorr Lens. My lamps are from Westcott and my tripod from Manfrotto.
